Spring is slow here in Norway, so I packed my tent, grabbed my snowshoes and went on a short field recording trip to a local old growth forest to test the Zoom F3 32-bit float recorder and the Audio-Technica BP4025 stereo microphone in the snow. The weather was calm the first part of the evening, but around midnight, the wind picked up and I woke up to heavy snowfall the next day. The Rycote Baby Ball Gag and Windjammer handled the wind fairly well, but a blimp would have been optimal in these conditions. All in all, I feel the BP4025 has great potential as a handy option for recording stereo on trips like this. It could also potentially work well as a handy option for recording nature soundscapes, but I need to test it out some more to see how it stacks up compared to other more specialized options.
