Reconnaissance for anyone who need to needs to repair one of these compact multi track cassette recorders.
in this episode I open the case and detach the transport (cassette player) from the rest of the system.
The transport in this unit is a generic part produced by GEC which appears in several different multi-track recorders form several manufacturers from the mid to late 1980s. I have already made a detailed series of seven videos covering everything you might need to know to refurbish this cassette player - I have added these videos to my Porta One playlist which you can find here;-
