FRANZ WERFEL (September 10, 1890 - August 26, 1945) was a novelist, playwright and poet Jew born in Austria, that among his greatest works stands out "VIERZIG TAGE DES MUSA DAG" which chronicles the Armenian tragedy of 1915.

RAPHAEL LEMKIN (June 24, 1900 -- August 28, 1959) was a Jew born in Poland, and best known for his work against the Armenian GENOCIDE - a word he coined in 1943 from the root words genos (race) and -cide (killing). He used this word for the first time in order to describe the massacres of 1915 against the Armenians in Turkey.
