The African Warriors of Light is a Non-Profit organization started by Peter Brandon Hanshi (Vice President - International Gojukai Karatedo Association & President of Goju Kai Africa) and his son Frank Brandon Shihan.

AWOL's purpose is to use karate to create opportunities and experiences for children from historically disadvantaged and underprivileged communities. AWOL raises funds to enable children to participate in a variety of activities and community initiatives.

These include job creation, education, sport development, personal coaching and development as well as community upliftment.

AWOL is run by a committee of Goju Kai parents and friends who hold its ambitions close to heart and generously invest time and expertise to turn dreams into reality for selected students & groups
