“By The Light Of The Silvery Moon”was recorded by Ray Noble & his Orchestra for Columbia records in 1941. Ray Noble was born December 17th 1903 in Brighton, Sussex UK. In Sept. 1934 Noble took his vocalist Al Bowlly and drummer Bill Harty to the USA where he became arranger and MD for Radio City. On this recording the vocalist is Roy (Snooky) Lanson, born in Memphis, Tennessee. The recording is said to have sold 1.5 million copies.
