26 Feb 2014 in Antwerp we see operations on the large tram network of that city operated by "De Lijn". (De = The, Lijn = Line) Ij is pronounced as "ay" in English.
Then to Central Station to see some action. The 6 tracks above street level were built with the station between 1895 and 1905 and arrived on a wall which afforded complete grade separation. Then between 1998 and 2007 the station was rebuilt to handle 21st Century traffic. The above ground part was put back to its turn of the century (19th - 20th) glory and two new track levels were established underground. First level down, 4 stub end tracks and 2nd level down 4 tracks of a through line which for the first time allows through trains to use this station without changing ends or backing in or out. The through line is made possible by a new tunnel under the city.
