The film tells the story of a hearing-impaired girl, Alice, who inexplicably regains her sight and hearing after a visit from the Virgin Mary, and can even heal people. The news immediately spreads, people flock to feel the miracle, and a journalist (played by Jeffrey) who has lost his reputation wants to find out what happened and use it to regain his reputation. As terrible things happen one by one, he begins to question whether these phenomena are the "work" of the Virgin Mary, or a more sinister presence?
