If you're estranged from your parent, siblings, relatives, or a narcissist, did you attend the funeral, memorial, or social function in which the toxic people attended? If so, did it cause you a significant setback? Or did you opt out? This is such a personal decision. No judgement here. Only you can make the decision for yourself. By all means, your safety, mental health, and peace of mind are a top priority. You are worthy of so MUCH better.

BEWARE OF TOXIC PARENT'S WHO'S ADULT CHILDREN ARE ESTRANGED FROM THEM. THEY WILL ATTACK YOU, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN ADULT CHILD WHO STANDS UP FOR ABUSE SURVIVORS. Family estrangement is a silent epidemic. A stigma that most people don’t understand. When we walked away from 1 or more family members, it was our LAST resort after exhausting all options. In the end, no contact from us is the abuser's loss. Not ours. We gained safety and peace. Despite the toxic, abusive people, we rose up to reclaim our peace of mind, health, happiness, and lives.

If you defend the narcissist and flying monkeys, you are an enabler. If you take sides with the perpetrators, you are supporting abuse. If you protect the narcissist and flying monkeys, you're equally as complicit to abuse. It's time to support abuse survivors. To hear them. To see them. To offer them compassion.
