Parallel reality is a technology that tracks your form within an airport and displays information unique to you, in your own language, on the same monitor that up to 10,000 other people are sharing. All who look at the monitor see their own information at the same time via these smart pixels. The pixels are rather large (like an old "Jumbo-tron") so the resolution is low but the tech is very stable and quite impressive.
This stands apart from anything else I saw at CES. The crux of this technology is actually two technologies working in tandem, One, we've known about where machine vision cameras identify and serialize people as unique "blobs". The second enabling technology, a smart pixel that can target millions of points in space and deliver different content to each in real-time, came completely out of nowhere. It's been a long time since a technology (or "discovery" if I'm being dramatic) has been so unanticipated that it took me completely unaware. I've not seen anything even remotely like this which is why I list this as my number one winner.
