On Thursday, Queen Camilla astonished visitors at the Charleston Festival 2024's opening session by joining Laureate Joseph Coelho on stage for a chat about the value of reading and the books they enjoyed as youngsters.

She astonished the Charleston Festival 2024 attendees by attending the inaugural session, 'Power of Reading'.
The Queen joined Children's Laureate Joseph Coelho and local primary school students to celebrate the wonder of children's literature.
The Queen also attended a reception in the walled garden, where she mingled with youngsters who had attended the opening session, writers, Festival presenters, Charleston staff, and Festival supporters.
