FENDI FASHION SHOW AT GREAT WALL
Billed as the first ever luxury fashion runway show on the Great Wall of China, the House of Fendi brought glitter and glamour to one of the world's best known fortresses.
Models in the latest fashions marched down the battlements like legions of soldiers might have done hundreds of years ago. Under the banner of Fendi they made an invading army� with previously unseen tactics. And these ones are marching on high heels!
China is seen by many as the next great market for luxury goods and designer goods. Chinese are now increasingly able to purchase luxury goods that would have been unheard of one generation ago. While the rich in China still represent a very small percentage of the population - with 20% of the world's people, even a small percentage means a great opportunity.
While China currently makes many - even most - of the things people need, it is also becoming a consumer of things that the Chinese want.
