In "Casino Royale," the 21st film in the James Bond franchise, we see a young and inexperienced 007 (played by Daniel Craig) on his first mission as a newly-minted double-0 agent. Bond is tasked with taking down a terrorist financier known as Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), who is using a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro to recoup his losses.
Bond is assisted by Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), a British Treasury agent who is assigned to oversee the poker game and provide the funds for Bond to enter. Along the way, Bond faces a number of challenges, including several attempts on his life, a poisoning, and a car chase through the streets of Montenegro.
As Bond and Le Chiffre face off in the poker game, the stakes become higher and the tension between them reaches a fever pitch. Bond ultimately comes out on top, but not before Le Chiffre kidnaps Vesper and tries to extort Bond's winnings from him.
In a dramatic finale, Bond must rescue Vesper and confront both Le Chiffre and his own emotions as he grapples with the consequences of his actions. "Casino Royale" is a thrilling and action-packed entry in the James Bond series, with standout performances from Craig and Green.
