Botox comes in a crystalline form and it has to be diluted with saline or any other form of liquid medium. Botox is usually injected into a fine needle to a targeted area with a minimal discomfort. Sometimes we use a surface anaesthesia or topical anaesthetic gels or creams to minimalise this discomfort. This procedure can be completed in few minute’s and it is a day care procedure. The patients can go home after the procedures and resume their normal activities without any discomfort, pain or any swelling or redness in the face. This botox treatment is minimally invasive and there is no pain or any discomfort after the treatment procedure the treatment effect starts after a week and it can be seen immediately at times and it approximately lasts for upto 6 months, before and after botox injections there are special instructions to be carried out like there is no intake of alcohol and no blood thinners like aspirin , warfarin, those medications are to be avoided and even any anti inflammatory like ibuprofen or paracetamols to be avoided. these botox injections are not recommended for pregnant women and those who are lactating and those with some known neurological disorders and those who have history for any drug allergies.
