German soldier who killed 2000 troops in D-Day: Heinrich Severloh
Heinrich was young German solder, who was stationed in German Resistance Nest number 62 on Omaha beach. June 6th 1944. D-day landing had begun. Severloh claimed he had fired his machine gun for 9 hours without pause firing around 12,000 rounds. The only breaks he took were to reload or let his machine gun cooldown. While the weapon was cooling down he was still laying down rifle fire
Severloh claimed he took out more than 1,000 men but the real number is something around 2000. After that day He was given the nickname, Beast of Omaha
