Hello everyone! Had some time over the weekend so recorded another video, this time another Crown Lands song that I have come up with a bass part for - 'The Witching Hour' from the 'White Buffalo' album. I've been playing along to this one quite a lot lately and am quite settled on my bass part for it, so thought it would be a good one to record and upload.
White Buffalo doesn't have any bass guitar on it, with Taurus Pedals/Synths providing the bass on the songs, so it's a really fun album to jam to because it feels to me like there is a big space to play around with ideas for basslines without competing with the original recorded bassline (as is the case for most songs). This track has such a great energy and this bassline was pretty much in my head when listening to the song before I even picked up the instrument to try and write something! The transitions between the sections are so well crafted in my opinion, and it's one of my favourite solo sections that the guys have done so far.
I used clips from this live performance during the bass downtime to keep it interesting for watching: [ Ссылка ]
Be sure to check it out!
Thanks for watching, and hope you enjoy this video!
