We've bought the PNI ML160, ML100, ML70, S75, S40 & Midland LC65, 59 & 29 antennas, all on magmounts to see how well they perform. I SWR'd the Midland ones on previous video with a conventional SWR meter.
On this video, David (Quotageous) came & helped to SWR these PNI aerials. We used an MFJ analyser to do the SWR as it is quicker than a traditional meter & because we have on to hand.
All the PNI aerials came out of the box more or less centrally SWRed on channel 20 of the CEPT band. As we will only be using them on the I=UK band, all the aerials except one needed some whip cutting off...as much as 3 inches on one. We got them all spot on central to the UK centre channel 20 frequency of 27.79125Mhz.
Part 2 is straight onto the field test a few days later.
