These two songs dating back to 1912 were among the early Irving Berlin compositions featured in the popular 1938 film musical “Alexander’s Ragtime Band.” Though his star had faded by the time these posted Decca tracks were laid down for Decca, drummer Pollack is remembered as an important figure in music during the late 20s and early 30s when his band included such young hopefuls as Goodman, Miller, Teagarden, and Rodin.
Transferred from 78rpm Decca 1891 - Everybody’s Doing It (Intro: Ragtime Violin) (Berlin) by Ben Pollack & his Orchestra, vocal by Paula Gayle, recorded April 16, 1938 .
