In an effort to upload more content, I'm throwing up some not so polished work! Here's a quick comparison between no stabilization, HyperSmooth, and Fusion on Whistler's A-Line trail. All 3 runs were separate. There are jumps between moments, that's just to re-align the runs. I realize this is not the perfect comparison, and I wished I had filmed the same run with a gimbal as well. Next time!
The non-stabilized run was filmed with an ND filter, hence the dark video in the shadows. I typically use an ND to elongate blur for photos or screen captures. Unfortunately I only filmed one run without stabilization, and it was with the ND! You can at least get a sense of stabilization levels between the two.
The Fusion content was rendered through Fusion Studio using the "stabilize only" algorithm, meaning it smooths out shakes but still let's the camera follow my head movements. The movement is very similar to HyperSmooth. All 3 cameras were mounted in the same position on the chin of my full-face helmet. The HERO7 shots were mounted vertically.
Quality-wise, when zooming into 100%, HERO7 retains much more detail than the Fusion. Fusion really only can output decent video quality at a maximum of 1080P.
As for audio, I found Fusion's audio to capture more of the right stuff (bike and ground), though HERO7 still did a good job of capturing quality audio.
Color was all shot flat between all 3, and I threw a quick curve in Premiere to correct, hence the differences across all 3.
