WARNING: Strong violence
This anti-fur advert, showing a woman being clubbed unconscious for her coat, was banned in both America and the UK.
In America, PETA decided to pull the advert from TV themselves in the wake of 9/11, considering the images to be too graphic for already traumatised viewers.
In the UK, they initially hoped to target foreign tourists by showing the film in cinemas in London's Leicester Square. However, this never happened because it was rejected by the BBFC in 2002. No reason was officially given but it was probably due to the context of the violence. Interestingly, it was submitted as a video advertisement instead of a cinema advertisement.
This was never shown in public, although a slightly different version exists with a different title card at the end where the website link of 'FurIsDead.com' has been replaced with a copyright message reading © 2010 People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Inc.'
