About Tiraspol: Sheriff Stadium (or Glavnaya Arena of Complexul Sheriif) is home to Sheriff Tiraspol, a football team based in Tiraspol, capital of Transnistria, Moldova. It is owned by the local Sheriff corporation. It seats 12,746 spectators. The Moldova national football team played some of their international home matches at the stadium. It occupies a territory of more than 40 hectares and consists of the main field plus five other fields, training fields, a covered indoor arena for winter use as well as a soccer school for children and on-site residences for the players of FC Sheriff. A five star luxury hotel is under construction. // Fotbal Club Sheriff (Russian: ФК Шериф Тирасполь), commonly known as Sheriff Tiraspol or simply Sheriff, is a Moldovan football club based in Tiraspol, a city located in the de jure unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria). Founded in 1997 as Tiras Tiraspol and rebranded the following year as Sheriff, it quickly established itself within Moldovan football. The Wasps recorded their debut in the first league in the 1998–99 season, when they also won... They have since amassed 19 championship titles, ten Cups and seven Super Cups–all competition records. On the European stage, Sheriff has reached the group stage of the UEFA Europa League on four occasions and became the first ever Moldovan side to reach the group stages of the UEFA Champions League in 2021. The club takes its current name from the main sponsor, a company which operates various industries in the breakaway state.
