Ahead of the discussion today about the Withdrawal Agreement Bill, the legislation that passes the Brexit Deal so we can leave, I thought I was important to just tak a couple of minutes to explain what the Withdrawal Agreement is and how it works. Much of what I've read about it giving away sovereignty or rights over things like fishing etc is utter nonsense, and this is why:
It gets us out, and it gets us out in a way that we can't be tied in in the future - an improvement on the old deal. It outs the issue of our leaving to bed, Job done. It does not however decide what our long term relationship looks like, that's a discussion for further down the track.
