Absolute darkness is not what a night dive looks like. Night Diving during the PADI Divemaster Course is a fantastic experience!
When the boat took off for the Divemaster night dive into this romantic sunset I forgot all fears I had of night dives. Against all my expectations, diving in the dark turned out to be very relaxing, almost meditative.

Marine life on a night dive is different than during the daytime. Following the light beam of your flashlight with your eyes and observing loads of tiny organisms reacting and coming to it, watching some fish sleep and others hunt and discovering creatures you haven’t seen during the day took my scuba diving experience to a whole new level. Night Diving rocks!!
Even though some species behave just like during the day, everything looks different because of the artificial light.
Turning off your flashlight and playing around with bioluminescence in complete darkness during the night dive is absolutely fascinating but unfortunately impossible to film with a simple camera.
Thank you so much for watching and following my journey to become a PADI Divemaster!
