The Cathedral Church Of St. Patrick is a Catholic cathedral located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The cathedral is the mother church of the Diocese Of Charlotte, and the church was built in 1939. In 1972, the Diocese Of Charlotte was established and St. Patrick’s Church became the diocese’s cathedral. The cathedral was added to the National Register Of Historic Places in 1987 and the cathedral’s 700 pound bell, which was installed in the tower in 2007, strikes once every half hour, strikes every hour, and signals the Angelus.
