David Hirsch, MD, DDS, FACS invented Jaw-in-a-Day for patients like Tara Singh, 31, who he diagnosed with an aggressive tumor of the jaw in 2021. Left untreated, it could deform her face. Treating these types of tumors used to require three or more procedures, spanning months or years, and leave patients without teeth in the interim. Jaw-in-a-Day solves that problem by virtually planning the entire procedure, as well as 3D printing tools to enhance accuracy in the operating room. By decreasing the amount of surgeries, Dr. Hirsch's team improves outcomes, decreases trauma and reduces costs for both the patient and the hospital.
David Hirsch is the senior vice president of the dental medicine service line for Northwell Health, and chair of the newly established department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital.
