Wondering what to do with all that salmon in your freezer?
Try this easy recipe for one of the best salmon snacks out there!
What we used for this video:
- 20 pounds of fresh Alaskan Salmon
- 2 bags of brown sugar
- 2 bottles Butterworth maple syrup
- 3/4 cup pickling salt
- 1 bottle of honey
- 1-gallon hot water
- optional black pepper
Cut salmon into strips. Add all ingredients into a bowl and stir together. Add to salmon. Let brine for 12 hours. Hang with toothpicks on smoker racks. Let hang for 12 hours. Smoke for 4 hours at 160 degrees. It is ready to eat! It can be vacuum-packed for longevity or eaten right away. This batch lasted us about 3 weeks. Haha!
