Week 19 in the ongoing Ⓢ series, which follows the construction of a new 13-story senior living building in San Francisco. This is a #construction #timelapse with various closeups and "sub-time-lapses" at various speeds, condensing the week of June 8 - 13, 2020, into about 51 minutes.
There's yet another #concretepour this week on Monday. It is interesting to note how quickly the new #concrete is usable — they're already working on top of the portions poured in the morning while the pour hasn't even completed yet elsewhere. We see our usual rebar, columns, and wiring activities (with a few variations). For the first time, we see the blue cables for post-tensioning the concrete (you can look up articles about that process). We'll see more of the post-tensioning process in future episodes. Notice that they're well on their way to another floor before this current floor is anywhere near finished — the building is rising at a good pace.
There's another protest march on Thursday night, this time it is nurses (and others) from the nearby hospital. While it "isn't construction", my tradition through years on this channel has been to occasionally include various goings on around the construction site, whatever they may be, for atmosphere, context, or simply entertainment/interest.
On Monday afternoon/evening, the base time-lapse camera malfunctioned, causing a few hours to be lost, but fortunately nothing important was missed.
