Mirror Mirror on the Wall Who’s the fairest of them all. Wait doesn’t everyone ask their mirror that?

What's up guys and gals and welcome to Talk About The Magic where I hope to bring some inspiration by sharing some facts and history you may not have known regarding all things Disney.

Snow White has become one of the most treasured films in history. From being one of the biggest risks that Walt Disney ever made to becoming one of his most successful films. Here are 7 Facts you may not have known about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

- While the 7dwarfs have names that we have mostly all become recognized with. There were many names tossed around that never actually made the cut. Here are a few: Scrappy, Hoppy, Awful, Weepy, Gloomy, Snoopy, Silly, Gabby, Blabby, Flabby, Dizzy, and Biggy-Wiggy. They actually sound more like dwarf names that could be found in the Hobbit.
- Many of us not only remember the movies for what we see but also for what we hear. Soundtracks are important for any film but unfortunately not every song makes the cut. Snow White was no different. The song, “Music in Your Soup” was a song that did not make the final cut in the film. You can now hear the song after being locked away for many years. I’ll post a link in the description below.
- The animators of the film felt that Walt Disney had expressive eyebrows and used his eyebrows as a model for all of the dwarfs except for Happy. I wonder how mine would do?
- The Evil Queen and the old hag/witch was voiced by the same actress: Lucille LaVerne. Sources say the way she managed to get a completely different sound for the hag’s voice by removing her false teeth. Hey you do what you gotta do.
- In order to truly get the animators to understand what his vision for the film was. Walt spent hours actually acting out the film in front of them.
- Dopey was originally going talk quite a bit in the film. Producers, however, could never find the right voice for him. So instead, producers chose to keep Dopey silent rather then have him voiced by someone they felt had the wrong vocals.
- Though many felt that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs would be the undoing of Walt. The film ended up being so successful that Walt was able to purchase 51 acres in Burbank for his studios that are still used today.
