Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, visited an emergency call centre in south London on Friday as the government stepped up efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 amidst a rise in the number of cases.

The United Kingdom now has 3,983 confirmed cases of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. A total of 177 people have died from the virus.
