During our Road Trip in Utah, we found one of the best state parks in America! Goblin Valley State Park. This park was out of this world. An incredible state park with one of the most unique geological features we have seen on this trip. Goblin Valley State Park is trully one of a kind. From Hiking trails to incredible Rock Formations, this parks is trully an alien planet.

Located in Green River, Utah, Goblin Valley State Park features an incredible landscape. The're thousands of hoodoos, referred to as goblins, which are formations of mushroom-shaped rock pinnacles, some as tall as several meters. Their shapes are the result of erosion-resistant layer of rock atop relatively softer sandstone.

Goblin Valley was prominently featured in the movie Galaxy Quest (1999) as an alien planet. The eroded sandstone dunes in the valley inspired the design of the fictional planet’s rock monsters. [ Ссылка ]
