Basil Fawlty is back. 35 years after he last prowled the Reception area of Fawlty Towers, John Cleese’s legendary comedy creation has returned to our screens for Specsavers.

In Fawlty Car, it’s clear the present-day Basil hasn’t lost his notorious ability to self-destruct spectacularly when events conspire against him. Throw in a should’ve gone to Specsavers twist (Fawlty eyesight?) and you have an irresistible comedy cocktail leading to inevitably calamitous results.
