Even President Obama has had enough with Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith’s shirtless antics.
Obama on Thursday placed a congratulatory call to Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue after the team won its first NBA championship.
But the basketball fan-in-chief had some words for Smith and his teammates who discarded their shirts during the team’s celebration in Las Vegas and their Cleveland victory parade.
“Congratulations again,” Obama told Lue. “Tell J.R. and everybody to put on a shirt, though.”
“OK, I will. I definitely will,” Lue responded with a chuckle.
“You can’t be just walking around without a shirt for like a whole week,” the president said. “Come on, man.”
Smith has gained national attention for his weeklong shirtless celebration. It started at XS Club in Las Vegas on Sunday morning, and he was still without a shirt when he got off the plane in Cleveland the next morning.
