On the 11th of November 1918, as news of the end of the war spread, church bells in Britain's villages, towns and cities rang out out in unison.
It was a celebration tinged with sadness. During the conflict, 1400 bell-ringers lost their lives.
After a special campaign to recruit that same number, the bells will chime once again in their honour.
