From midnight to open at 8:55 am, Amy Hansen, a Mt. Bachelor night shift groomer, sits behind the controls of her snowcat in solitude battling the Cascade elements, laying down fresh corduroy for skiers and riders to enjoy the next day. An operator at various ski resorts for almost 20 years, Amy has become a big part of our team here, and for good reason.
In order to keep Mt. Bachelor operating at it's fullest potential, we rely on a dedicated team of employees in all departments. This week we wanted to highlight one of our snow cat groomers, Amy Hansen, who gives us insight into the job, what makes a great groom from a riders perspective, as well as why Mt. Bachelor is such a unique environment to work at.
