This video shows how to program a shortcut key for any transposition. You can use 6, 7, 8 or 9 to equal any transposition you like. This is a lot quicker than going through the menus each time. I use up or down an octave all the time so I have them programmed to the numbers 6 & 7. You can also tell Finale to retain your original notes when you transpose. This is useful for writing parts that are in octaves.

You can program different settings on the fly to 8 and 9 depending on what you need for that score.
