It is important to call and ask screening questions before the patient comes to the endoscopy unit. Those positive on screening should be sent for further workup; those negative on screening should be checked again at the reception before they enter the endoscopy suite. Patients should wear a mask and maintain a social distance of 2 meters minimum. During the epidemic routine screening and surveillance cases are deferred; only urgent and life-threatening cases are done.
