💍 Make your own ring at home in just 5 steps!
💡 A very fast and easy project to create an inexpensive wire ring,
💰 You can quickly make a ton of these from bits of wire left over from other projects.
🌺 For 7.5 (us) ring size you will need approximatively:
- 30 cm (12 inch) x 0,8 mm (20g) copper round wire
- 8cm (3 inch) x 0,4 mm (26g) copper round wire
- 0,3 mm faceted gemstone bead (you can chose a bigger one if you prefer it)
1. Twist the wires
- Take the 0,8 (20g) round wire and roughly fold in half into a fish shape.
- Twist the ‘tail’ and bend the wire ends outwards.
- Begin to twist the body of the fish whilst holding the tail.
- Continue to twist until until you have a long wire with a little bobble at the end.
2. Hammer Flat
- Give your wire wrap rings a hammered texture.
3. Trim and File
- Cut the excess of the wire and o file the ends flat
(for 7.5 size you will need aprox 8cm wire/3.5”)
4. Size
- Wrap the wire around the ring mandrel so the ends cross.
5. Add the stone
- Take the 0,4 mm (26g) wire and wrap the gemstone
Oxidize or patina the finished ring. (optional)
