In this GIMP Basics tutorial, I show you how to copy layer masks from one layer onto another - or essentially duplicate your layer masks in a composition. I also show you the very basics of adding a layer mask to an image, as well as how to save a layer mask to use on another layer at a later time. I briefly explain how selections relative to layer masks work, and touch upon layer group masks.
This is a great way to easily remove the background from an image and to cut out the shape of your model in other layers (like a gradient or pattern layer). I use GIMP 2.10.20 for this tutorial.
