To treat cancers, we have to better understand them - and their DNA. Genomics England is pioneering a new technique to sequence the entire genomes of patients with cancer. This is long-read sequencing. Long-read uses an innovative new technique to read very long strands of individual DNA, which can reveal new information about the so called 'dark-matter' of the genome.
