On October 25th, 2018, (Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode 5, "Everyday Angel"), one of my FAVORITE shows, represented a patient that had MALS (Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome). Our son suffered from severe MALS pain for about 2 years. He had shown symptoms of it for much longer, but he had gotten so severe he was barely eating. It was very hard to diagnose. We went to many doctors and had many tests. Doctors who knew him from birth told him, "It's all in your head." We were criticized for wanting to find a "cure" and not just have him learn to cope with the pain. They would only give him "Ativan," which didn't help.
In this excerpt from Grey's Anatomy, there is an "easy" fix: a 20-minute laparoscopic surgery. That is not the case for most. Tedd Gilbert and I do not recommend Laparoscopic surgery for treatment. There is a lot of new research going on for this rare disease that can be very debilitating.
If you know someone who has pain after eating or has unexplained stomach pain and all tests have come back negative. This is a great place to start, [ Ссылка ] ! For our son, it was caught relatively early, and damage to other organs and nerves was not extensive. Our son is doing extremely well now! He still suffers from POTS but can eat normally again!
