The first place we visited in Canada was an outlet mall called the Outlet Collection at Niagara in Niagara-on-the-lake. It was a pretty cool outlet mall with a lot of high end stores like Lululemon, Moose knuckle, and a lot of different food options. If I were to go to the Niagara Falls again, I think I would spend a lot more time at Niagara-on-the-lake. There were a lot of interesting things to do over there that we just didn't have the time for.

Our first stop in the outlet mall was The Eatery, their food court. I was overwhelmed by the different options and chose Hot Flock based purely on the decor. I wish I had done more research and tried Tim Horton's, Big Smoke Burger, or one of the food trucks instead but at least they had incredible tater tots. They were the best tater tots I've ever had.

My first impression of Toronto is that it is a less condensed New York with nothing really good to eat and everything was over priced or expensive relative to the area surrounding the Niagara Falls. I also did not appreciate how early everything closed there! It was 7 PM on a Friday and everything I wanted to do was closed. That being said, it was still interesting to see a major city in a country I had never been to. We even stopped by a major grocery store chain there called Loblaw's. That was by far the best thing I did in Toronto and I wish I had recorded it.

I forgot to put a tag for it but we went to CF Eaton Centre. A luxurious mall with all of the big brands. It was huge and had so many cool stores to look at. The displays in every window were done very well. I had a lot of fun looking around and trying on new clothes there. The Canada Goose store was my favorite. They had a room that generates snow that they have to shovel every once in a while! The purpose of the room is to see how warm their jackets will keep you. I loved the white jacket so much that I almost bought it on the spot but stopped myself.

After shopping we went to get food at Kinka Izakaya. There was a little bit of a wait so we were expecting something much better than what we got. It started off fine with the cocktail and the sashimi but with every dish we got perpetually disappointed. I really did like the duck tataki though.

To wash everything down we went to Baroness a short walk away and had some good bubble tea. My girlfriend got a Taro bubble tea but asked for no sugar and that was a big mistake. My brown sugar bubble tea was very tasty and the bubbles that they used was really chewy and delicious.

Using the tram was fairly easy too. They have a machine on board the trams that you can use to buy a ticket or you can prepay for one on machines outside. We prepaid for ours in the CN Eaton Centre.

St. Lawrence Market was highly recommended on most websites so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately, nothing seemed very appetizing or particularly good. Carousel bakery's pea meal sandwich did not wow us. However, there was some coffee downstairs that was very good. Better than the one we had at Balzac's to be honest.

To end the trip we had to get some poutine. After doing some extensive research it seemed like Nom Nom Nom Poutine was the best place to go for it. After my first bite I wasn't very impressed. The french fries were really good but I have had potato, gravy, and cheese curds before. The mixture was nothing particularly special for me. However, as I continued to eat I became very satisfied and filled with warmth. It was also very affordable. I could see myself coming back to Nom Nom Nom Poutine frequently if I lived in Toronto. It was very fun to interact with the birds there too. They clearly love Nom Nom Nom Poutine too.
