Esarhaddon’s reign became with conflict between himself and his brothers, who were slated for the monarchy but ended with his ascension to power and the expansion of the Assyrian empire beyond anything seen before. The empire grew to include Egypt and usher in a region of world supremacy. In this class, we study the circumstances of Esarhaddon’s region as well as his personal life and difficulties.
