Twenty-two people were fined for breaching COVID-19 rules after cops busted an illegal party organised inside a barbershop.
The incident took place at the Kiss Kuts barbershop on London Road in Croydon, south London, just after midnight on 20th February.
Cops were dispatched to the location after receiving a call reporting loud music coming from the barbers late at night.
Upon arrival, they encountered 22 people partying and disregarding all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
All of the attendees, who were immediately sent home, are now facing fines for breaching Health Protection Regulations.
The organiser of the event is facing a fine of GBP 10,000.
Inspector Kathy Morteo, of the Met’s South Area Command, said: “Everyone knows that it is neither lawful nor safe for such events to take place while the country is dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The Health Protection Regulations are in place for good and easily understood reasons, and it is our role to enforce them in London."
