Untrodden paths are not crowded with people but with challenges. Aanchal Thakur, the first Indian to win a silver medal in An Fis Alpine Skiing Race, was also the one to represent India at the 20 organized youth Olympics that took place in Innsburg.
She won four silver medals across separate categories at the UAE Alpine Slalom Championship. Hailing from a small but picturesque hill station of Manali, Aanchal Thakur etched her name in history by winning bronze at the precious Alpine edge Ejder 3200 Cup organized by the Federation International Deski (FIS)- skiing's international governing body - at the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey and became the first Indian to achieve an international medal in skiing.
