I am in the process of putting together a complete video for my M52 engine rebuild. It's a big one so what I have decided to do is take small clips out of it in advance for important parts of the rebuild to make it more digestible. The entire video will go live for sure, but I am also looking to answer some of the smaller but important parts in greater detail.
In this video I explain how to use the double nut method to completely and safely install new exhaust manifold studs in the cylinder head on my M52 engine. I have seen studs installed incorrectly before or not completely installed (especially in blind holes) and I have found this method prevents that from occurring. This technique will work for any threaded stud and in my opinion is the safest and easiest way to install studs without a drive on the end of them. Even studs with a drive on the end are at risk of being stripped and this is where the double nut technique comes into play.
