Baby Arizmendi (1912-1962) was a successful Mexican boxer in the featherweight division. He began boxing early in life to combat Polio's effects and turned pro at 13. Arizmendi won the Mexican bantamweight title at 18 and gained recognition as a featherweight contender by defeating a flyweight champion. He held the California world featherweight title and became the NYSAC world featherweight champion in 1934. Despite facing challenges to unify the NBA title, he had intense battles with Henry Armstrong and retired in 1942 after notable fights. Arizmendi's legacy was honored with his posthumous induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004.
