Growing spinach in containers is fairly straight forward, much like growing lettuce or other leaf vegetables like Kale. Spinach usually thrives in containers because of its shallow rooting systems, which makes spinach plants less likely to get "root bound". The only drawback to growing spinach in containers is that after 1 or 2 plantings, the growing medium will have to be replaced. Even if you continue to add fertilizers, the soil will be just too tired to support high-density plant growth.
