Amidst the evacuation, the 35-year-old Afghan air force pilot's mission was to fly other people to safety, 130 in all. But as the Taliban closed in, he found himself planning his own and his family's escape to the United States, leaving his life and career behind. Now, he grapples with a vastly different life but refuses to give up on his dreams of taking flight again.​
