Verkada does a great job in providing a single platform to drive multiple products across physical security and building management. However, there are times where one would want to extract information or integrate it with 3rd party systems. In this video I'll describe a few use-cases, focusing not only on the available APIs, but also on RTSP.

🗒️ Verkada RTSP:
➡️ Allows any camera to send one or two streams, unencrypted, across the LAN
➡️ Used for advanced analytics (via a local server), for integration with VMS systems (especially during a long rollout), and even for displaying one camera on a screen
🗒️ Verkada APIs:
➡️ Free to use, and not only for cameras
➡️ Can be pulled, or one can subscribe to webhooks
➡️ Used to extract alarms and device status, logs, people & vehicle counts, occupancy trend reports, get LPR readings, update LPR and Persons of Interest databases, and get historical footage and thumbnails
➡️ The Helix API can be used to populate 3rd party events into Command, matching it with relevant camera footage
