Without adequate induction supports and opportunities to build strong relationships with students, peers, and school leaders, new teachers can end up leaving the profession. This Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southwest video introduces Louisiana’s New Teacher Experience (NTE), an early-career teacher induction program. The video includes interviews with new teachers, professional learning coaches, and Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) staff.
REL Southwest is collaborating with the LDOE to improve supports for early career and aspiring teachers through the Supporting Early Career and Aspiring Teachers (SECAT) partnership. One goal of the SECAT partnership is to study how NTE supports the state’s goal to recruit, support, and retain early career teachers.
