Album: The Epitaph of a Pagan Paradise/2013
Lyrics: The First Dawn of Venus
The lonely birth of the evening star
Was foretold by an old nightly bird
Raised from the fire and shadows, its shine
Reached the skies above all horizons
In the complete dusk of four impervious nights
Death’s rituals echoed torpidly through the winds
When neither the moon nor the sun can be revealed
Quetzalcoatl evanesced by the breath of a funeral pyre
So, in the distant origin of an old time –
The skies were inscribed by a tragic epitaph
The intrepid heart of a god was forged by the fire –
By the sacred flame of his funeral pyre
And his ashes were taken away to the skies –
Through the wings of mystic birds
By the death of the feather serpent -
The first dawn of Venus was consecrated
Far beyond the mortal life, Quetzalcoatl descended to Mictlan
Enwrapped in grief, he wandered through the insidious paths
Guided by his blind coyote, dived in the entrails of the darkness
Where he found the sacred bones of his father
So, the malefactor spell was broken
And light disclosed the veil of darkness
Before the predicted tragedy of a time
The skies revealed the rebirth of a god
From a paradise succumbed by the shame
The life was re-created by the bones and blood
Through the ash and the fire
It was forged lonely birth of the Venus
